PKF Mueller, Illinois, welcome two new tax directors, Margaret Nowak and Dean Pearson to the firm.

Margaret (Peggy) Nowak, EA, MST, MBA has recently joined PKF Mueller as an International Tax Director. She brings over 20 years of experience, including working for large international firms. She also has expertise in U.S. international tax planning and compliance for both inbound and outbound multinational companies.  Peggy has also provided support to companies in managing their global workforce challenges.

Peggy has a wide variety of leadership experience and has managed large multi-national engagements, where her responsibilities included managing large teams of tax practitioners, reviewing complex returns and providing consulting assistance. 

Peggy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in both International Business and French with a minor in Spanish from St. Norbert College. She earned both a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters of Science in Taxation, from DePaul University Graduate School of Business. She is an Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent as well as an Internal Revenue Service Certified Acceptance Agent.

Dean Pearson, CPA has recently joined PKF Mueller as Tax Director. Dean brings over 14 years of experience in State and Local Tax (SALT) advisory services. He regularly assists clients during state and local audit examinations, administrative appeals, and other state and local tax controversies. Dean has extensive experience with both state income/franchise tax and sales/use tax matters.

Dean has strong leadership experience and has managed large multi-state engagements, where he was responsible for managing teams of tax practitioners both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining PKF Mueller, Dean was a regional practice leader at a national firm for multi-state tax in Chicago.

Dean graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Illinois and is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.
