PKF O’Connor Davies adds two to Firm’s Executive Committee
PKF O’Connor Davies has announced it’s added two new members to its Executive Committee. Nominees Christopher Petermann and Garrett Higgins were approved following recommendations by the firm’s recently established Governance Committee. The new members reinforce the Firm’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality and the Executive Committee’s role in supporting the Firm’s mission, vision and values.
“These nominations show the importance of attracting and growing talent at the firm,” said Kevin J. Keane, Managing Partner. “Chris and Garrett have demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities throughout their careers and specifically during their time as partners at PKF O’Connor Davies. We are lucky to have them and we are excited to have their expertise and guidance on our Executive Committee.”
Petermann serves as Co-Partner-in-Charge for the Private Foundation Practice, and specialises in accounting for exempt organisations and private foundations, as well as closely-held businesses and financial services entities. Higgins serves as Partner-in-Charge for the Exempt Organisation Tax and Advisory Services Group, and specialises in providing tax compliance and advisory services to tax-exempt organisations.
In an effort to stagger future terms served and eliminate multiple partners finishing their duties in the same year, the Governance Committee also recommended Petermann serve a six-year term and Higgins serve a four-year term. The Executive Committee accepted these recommendations upon appointment on January 1, 2019.
“We are pleased with the Executive Committee’s decision to accept Chris and Garrett with our consideration,” said Thomas Blaney, Partner and Governance Committee Chair. “Our goal is to support and enhance the Firm’s leadership decisions and it is an honour to be a part of this formative process.”
The executive committee is the top leadership in the Firm, working with several groups to carry out its internal advisory and leadership practices. The committee is designed to strategically support and implement the Firm’s highest priorities.
PKF O’Connor Davies has ten offices in four states and continues to expand through organic growth and acquisitions in the Northeast and Washington, D.C. region. It has supported this growth with a strategic combination of promoting from within coupled with tactical external hires.
