Professional Experience

Taxation is Stef’s preferred field of expertise, but he also enjoys estate planning. His portfolio is mainly the management of our tax compliance and public sector work. Stef has a variety of audit experience, but prefers value added services to private equity clients and also enjoys estate planning.

Stef qualified in 1991 after the completion of his articles at PWC in Worcester. He joined SARS for six years as a VAT and Income Tax auditor and started his own practice in 1996. In 1997 he completed the Advanced Taxation Certificate (UNISA) and in 2000 merged with PWC in George. During 2003 he started Abacus Chartered Accountants and after eight years merged with PKF in November 2011. On 1 August 2013 they joined Grant Thornton, but re-joined PKF in 2019.
